The Inaugural TOUR Championship Golf Ball Virtual Event will Support the East Lake Foundation and Affiliated Charities while Providing Unforgettable Experiences for Donors

The TOUR Championship and the East Lake Foundation are partnering with Ideas United, an Atlanta-based creative studio, to host the inaugural Golf Ball (http://www.TourGolfBall.com). The Golf Ball aims to raise much needed funding for charities including: the East Lake Foundation, Grove Park Foundation, and Purpose Built Schools Atlanta. Viewers are invited to attend the virtual events and donate for the chance to win exceptional experiences.

Last year, the TOUR Championship raised $3.5 million for local charities, but with this year’s COVID-19 restrictions, those same crowds of spectators and hospitality suites are not able to deliver similar results. Together, the partners created the TOUR Championship Golf Ball — a virtual fundraising experience that will be streamed live starting at 7pm EDT on Thursday, September 3, the night before the TOUR Championship, and continue through Monday, September 7.

“The TOUR Championship Golf Ball is our way of bringing historic East Lake Golf Club straight into your living room — and have a ball doing it,” said David Roemer, CEO of Ideas United. “As a special kickoff to TOUR Championship weekend, this event gives fans the chance to win some amazing experiences while supporting charities so integral to the community.”

The Golf Ball will be an unforgettable evening featuring silent auctions and raffle items. Raffle items include such prizes as VIP tickets to the 2021 PGA Championship at The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island, Hot Passes and a Meet & Greet at the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series at Atlanta Motor Speedway, a Coca-Cola UNITED Braves Suite, and roundtrip first class tickets from Delta Air Lines. Viewers will also be able to participate in a silent auction, with the highest bidders winning prizes including experiences at Pebble Beach Golf Resort thanks to The Coca-Cola Company, a 3-day Donald Ross Package at Pinehurst Resort, a foursome at East Lake Golf Club, and a 2020 signed TOUR Championship pin flag by the tournament champion.

“We’re deeply disappointed that fans can’t attend this year’s TOUR Championship in person. You love coming to East Lake, and we love having you,” said Allison Fillmore, Executive Director of the TOUR Championship. “The East Lake Foundation and affiliated charities still greatly need our help to continue offering life-changing services to the community.”

“In addition to sharing East Lake’s proud tradition of Golf with a Purpose,” stated Chuck Palmer, General Chairman of the TOUR Championship, “the Golf Ball also gives attendees the chance to discover how fans have impacted the East Lake community year after year, and how they can continue making an impact during these challenging times.”

“This is a very difficult time for vulnerable families in East Lake and communities across Atlanta, many of whom have been disproportionately affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and are experiencing economic hardship as a result of this extraordinary COVID-19 health crisis,” said Daniel J. Shoy, Jr., President and CEO of the East Lake Foundation. “We’re grateful for our partnership with Ideas United and the TOUR Championship to create an innovative and exciting virtual fundraising experience during tournament week to help us support families who are in critical need of assistance.”

All silent auction items, raffle entry, and program content will be available at TourGolfBall.com starting at 7:00pm EDT on Thursday, September 3, and continuing through 11:59pm EDT on Monday, September 7.
