New Junior Clinic joins tournament schedule of events at ninth annual East Lake Cup

The East Lake Cup announced today the addition of a Junior Clinic for the ninth playing of the tournament set to kickoff later this month. The new Junior Clinic will be held on Sunday, October 29, 2023, at Atlanta Athletic Club’s Jones Center and north practice tee and features two sessions, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The special event will provide young golfers the opportunity to learn and develop their skills through five hitting/putting stations and receive tips from collegiate players in the tournament’s field of competitors, including practice advice and insight into life as a college golfer.

Junior participants will also be treated to a special visit from college mascots attending the East Lake Cup to cheer on their respective teams. The mascots will be available for photo opportunities with the juniors at the conclusion of each session.

Team mascots will also appear at the tournament on Monday, October 30, during the first round of competition at the 2023 East Lake Cup. Participating mascots include the Florida Gators, Florida State Seminole’s Cimarron, Georgia Tech’s Buzz the Yellow Jacket, North Carolina’s Rameses the ram, the famous Stanford Tree, and the Wake Forest Demon Deacon.

The East Lake Cup benefits the East Lake Foundation and has been held at East Lake Golf Club since its inception in 2015. Due to current renovations taking place at East Lake Golf Club, this year’s tournament will be contested at historic Atlanta Athletic Club, located just north of Atlanta in Johns Creek, Georgia, on its championship Highlands Course. The East Lake Cup will return to East Lake Golf Club in 2024.

General admission for the East Lake Cup is FREE. The tournament is open to the public from Monday, October 30 to Wednesday November 1.
